For this blog I thought it could be interesting to give you, the reader, an insight into what it is like to be a locksmith in Worthing.

Being a locksmith is a very rewarding and fascinating career. As we deal with home security it is critical for us to be skilled at our job as well as being very knowledgeable on the subject of locks and home security. This must all be tied in with strong customer relations to give our customers a great sense of satisfaction once a job is complete.

It is never a daunting task to be called out in the middle of the night by a customer who has had the misfortune of being locked out of their home, whether it’s because they’ve lost their keys, snapped there key in the lock or their lock is jammed. Because there is such an incredibly large amount of lock types and size variations, each job that I attend normally presents me with new challenges that contain educational value to me. The learning curve is always ongoing.

Being called out to a locksmithing job isn’t just rewarding from an educational point of view, I also get job satisfaction in other ways. Sometimes I get asked “Do you enjoy getting out of bed at night to attend a lock out?” The answer is always yes. The job is never boring and you’re kept on your toes by the new challenge of gaining entry to a property. Seeing the relief and joy on a customers face as I open the door and give them access back to their home is very rewarding.

I also get job satisfaction from supplying our customers with security information & advice. It can be information about changing their locks to British Standards so they’re covered by their home insurance against any break ins to advice on a complete overhaul of their current home security systems to suit their security needs.

I also feel it is important for myself and my business to gain a good name within the local community and I don’t believe it’s a difficult task as long as we stick to the basic rule that customer satisfaction is always on the top of our agenda.
